Here is a glimpse into my journey and the values that shape me!

I am mostly introverted in nature, yet I am confident in expressing myself, guided by empathy, collaboration, and analytical thinking. Honesty, hard work, and integrity are principles I hold close in all aspects of life.

Academically, I have pursued a Ph.D. and a Master's in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, USA, following my longstanding academic inclination. I completed my Bachelor's degree in India from the Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata. Education has been a guiding light in my life, and I have chosen to continue in this field as an Assistant Professor on a tenure-track position at Virginia Tech.

Additionally, I serve as an AI Research Scientist for the University Libraries, where my work involves strategic planning, research collaborations, publishing, and submitting grant applications. My long-term goals include achieving tenure, promotion to Associate Professor,... more and continuing to mentor and fund my students' research. My journey post-Ph.D. has been rewarding, marked by hard work, dedication, and growth in academia. I am open to relocation if needed, but remain committed to my research path.

Beyond work, I find joy in reading, music, and driving, especially in the fall when the leaves change. Dance is a part of my life, having trained with the Mamata Shankar troops from ages 8 to 15, and I am confident in my skills. I love cooking and am considered good at it by friends, often experimenting with different recipes and cuisines. I enjoy moderately spicy food, mostly homely meals, and non-veg options, including chicken, eggs, and some fish.

I unwind with a wide variety of music, including pop, classical, soulful music, and Rabindrasangeet, and occasionally watch thrillers, comedy, and action movies. My recent vacation to New York City in May 2025 brought joy and memorable experiences, and now Italy and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia top my travel bucket list.

Family is central to my life. My father is employed, and my mother lovingly manages our home. I also share a close bond with my cousins. I am close to both my parents and feel comfortable discussing any situation with them. Saraswati Puja and Diwali are important occasions in our family, and I follow my belief in God, carrying forward these cherished values. My family has always been supportive, nurturing my personal and professional growth.

I hope to find a life partner who shares my values and is understanding and kind-hearted. I seek someone with whom I can build a life of mutual respect, love, and growth, sharing dreams, adventures, and meaningful moments together.
