Born in a cross cultural family (Punjabi mother and Maharashtrian father) I consider myself very lucky and blessed for being the only son of my unique parents (friends might be a better word :) )I completed my Bachelors in Computer Engineering from University of Pune and worked for sometime in India. Thereafter, I moved to the US for completing graduate studies in Computer Science and second in Music Engineering. I am currently working as a Principal Product Manager at Amazon in Seattle in a place which has done nothing but made me look up to the next day with even more excitement.
I love all aspects of life. Cooking, working on unique things/prototypes that may be totally unrelated to my work, building new stuff, learning a new skill, any good physical activity, reading non-fiction, traveling, spending time with family and friends amongst others. I treat fitness as an essential part of the daily life rather than a nice to have thing.
Although I don't believe... more in preset personality traits or have any hard set notions about my better half, someone whom I can see myself very happy with would have a positive outlook towards life. Is passionate about life and her dreams too so that I am equally excited to support her in pursuing those. Leads an active life and is health conscious in general. Treats people around her: elders, young ones or any living being with respect rather than just out of tradition. Understands what family values were and are always necessary and what need to be moulded with time. May be have a friendly relation with her parents since I have the same with mine. Is able to find happiness in small things in life and yet not give up on the bigger ones. Generous, kind and a bit adventurous.
Our family is very close knit, has an equal mix of modern and traditional values, are open minded, and believe that education along with all round development is a necessary foundation in life. I would consider myself very lucky if my partner, the would be only daughter in the family, shares this mindset. Keeping me aside, what I am absolutely sure of is that my parents miss and would truly love a daughter in true sense than a daughter-in-law and very few things can even come close to the happiness that this will give them.My Father, a fisheries doctorate, retired as the Head of Aquaculture Research unit from one of the topmost research units under Maharashtra Govt. He is now a World Bank Fisheries consultant and his job takes him places throughout the world. My mother was the principal and administrator of a school which she started building from scratch 20 years ago making it one of the best schools in the Vidarbha region. She now has taken up the task of bringing up another ICSE public school in Akola where our family is a part of the society which runs the school. She has also been the member of state board of education for Govt of India.
