Catholic Matrimony

Catholic Christians have also moved to all parts of India today, but most reside in the Southern states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Catholic Churches in India fall under the Pope and Rome. The Catholic community forms the largest among the Christians in India. It is said that the Portuguese were the ones who first introduced Christianity in the Konkan region. The Catholics of Goa and Mangalore, Karnataka, are largely Konkani speaking.

Catholic matrimony ceremonies and weddings are surreal. The bride's white saree and the groom's crisp suit with a white shirt to match the bride's colour palette look magical, the wedding rituals are short, and the ceremony gets wrapped up in an hour. Since both the wedding and reception are on the same day, one barely gets to make the excuse they are short on time to make it to the wedding. The wedding reception only begins with blessings from the bride's mother for the newlyweds. Also, one can see special performances from the couple's near and dear ones and a beautiful multi-tiered wedding cake. Catholic matrimony matches are usually seen within the community only. However, some families are open to multicultural wedding too.
